How to make vermicompost?

The vermicomposting technology utilize the combined effects of earthworm and microorganism to convert organic waste into useful components. There are many types of organic waste can be used as raw materials, such as cow dung, chicken manure, food waste, sewage, strew and so on. Before adding earthworms, you should make the organic waste semi-decomposed. Because the temperature of compost pile may achieve 60℃ to 70℃ at the beginning of composting, which is too high to live for earthworms. After semi-decomposition, the temperature of compost pile will reduce, and you can add earthworms for further decomposition.

By taking advantage of saprophage, euryphage and big appetite of earthworms, you can adopt earthworms to eat organic waste and decompose them by digestion. After some days, the organic matters and inorganic salt will be converted into available vermicompost. This shows that earthworms are an important factor in vermicomposting.

What should you pay attention to during vermicompost production?

The earthworm is alive, therefore you should be more careful than common composting. You should pay close attention to both composting site selection and environment conditions control. The selection of composting site: Because the earthworm may enter the soil. You can not pile up organic waste on the soil directly. On the contrary, you need to choose floor with compact structure, such as concrete floor.

Raw materials for vermicomposting: Semi-decomposed organic waste will be best raw materials for vermicomposting. Because excess heat produced from the compost pile may kill earthworms, you need to add earthworms after composting for a period.

The control of composting conditions: In order to successfully accomplish vermicomposting, you should maintain moisture of the compost pile at 30% to 40% and the temperature at 18℃ to 25℃. what’s more, the aeration is also important for earthworms to grow and decompose organic waste.

The removal of earthworms: When the vermicomposting period accomplishes, you need to remove earthworms for the following operations. There are two methods provided by us. On the one hand, you can make a new organic waste pile and earthworms will migrate to new compost pile from the finished one automatically. On the other hand, you can expose the compost pile under the sunshine, and the earthworm will escape downward. And you can collect the vermicompost layer by layer.

Crushing process: Crushing the vermicompost is prepared for granulation. Because granulating process need uniform fertilizer powder. Granulating process: Granulation is the most important step for granular vermicompost production. Packaging process: After processing, uniform will be sent to packaging machine by conveying equipment, such as SEEC screw conveyor and mobile belt conveyor. The packaging of vermicompost is mainly for storage and transport in a convenient way.
